The slogan of this stylish seaside resort, “civilized simplicity”, speaks volumes. The arched branches of a lush banyan tree form the entrance to the property, giving way to the blue waters of the Atlantic, with 23 sparkling white cottages in between, all imbued with an exquisite feeling of almost Zen tranquility.

Lieu

The closest activities are a 10-15 minute walk from the station. On the other side of the island, and that’s part of the appeal of this intimate resort. With the sea to the east and the majority of the property that acts as a buffer between Dunmore Town and your cottage, it’s easy to forget the rest of the world.

The main center of Bay Street, a 15-minute walk away, has a small shopping village. And a handful of restaurants, as well as a dock leading to the harbor. Here visitors can watch the lobster fishermen catching their daily catch. Harbor Island is only accessible in seven minutes by water taxi from the nearby town of Eleuthera.

Style and character

From the two Asian-inspired koi ponds that line a small bridge leading to reception, to the pink sand beach that gave the resort its name, this peaceful retreat even takes on the island’s leisurely pace. several notches. The charming rustic-style chalets are immensely comfortable, with all the drawbacks of modality, while the large houses on the estate are the ultimate in elegance and seclusion.

At 20 acres, Pink Sands is the largest property on the island, but it easily maintains an intimate boutique atmosphere thanks to the large spacing between the dwellings and the generous use of tropical landscaping.

Service and facilities

The staff live up to the perfection of the resort, with a warm friendliness characteristic of the Bahamas islands. Guests can enjoy the private beach and turquoise waters, while kayaks, boogie boards, and snorkelling equipment are provided free of charge, allowing exploration of Pink Sands’ offshore reefs.

The Island Company Travel Apparel boutique offers resort clothing and, although there is no spa, massages can be arranged, as well as trips outside the island. Guests can also rent a golf cart, the locals’ favorite form of transportation, and experience the charms of Harbor Island.

Food and drinks

Blue Bar & Restaurant, overlooking the beach, is the casual option for breakfast and lunch, with ‘modern’ Bahamian cuisine emphasizing local and sustainable food. The menu turns to fresh produce and seafood. The attention paid to seasonal ingredients is reflected in dishes. Such as native red conch chowder and Bahamian conch fritters with goat pepper aioli.

Try the delicious French toast with vanilla pods for lunch. Dinner at Malcolm 51 is a formal affair, with full French service. Highlights include stone crab linguini, lobster tortellini and seasonal-inspired desserts.
