Fox bought the rights to the book, hired Leonardo DiCaprio to star, and then searched for a location. Maya Beach was perfect. Fox decided that the perfect beach needed palm trees and less vegetation. By this very fact, they therefore redeveloped the beach so that it corresponded to a Hollywood stereotype.<\/p>\n<p>Previously, environmentalists have said that removing vegetation will increase the risk of sand erosion and that the fragile natural ecosystem may never recover. The vegetation was replanted after the end of filming. Bamboo fences have been put in place to support the dunes.<\/p>\n<p>The following year, during high tides and a strong storm, the dune collapsed, the sand sank on the beach and killed the coral in the sea. Thus, Fox went to great lengths to leave Maya Beach as they found it.<\/p>\n<p>The debate continues on the question of whether the damage is due to the rearrangement or not, many say that the replanted vegetation has not yet &#8220;taken&#8221;. Filming began in 1999 and &#8216;The Beach&#8217; was one of the most anticipated films of the year 2000. Plus loin de la plage se trouvent des toilettes, mais vous ne voudriez les utiliser que si vous \u00eates d\u00e9sesp\u00e9r\u00e9. Il n&#8217;y a pas de nourriture disponible ici ; ceux qui campent doivent apporter leur propre nourriture. En ce fait m\u00eame, les feux ne sont pas permis, mais il y a un barbecue permanent pour cuisiner<\/p>\n<h2>Activities at Maya Beach<\/h2>\n<p>Snorkeling and diving are excellent throughout Maya Beach. The large underwater rocks are encrusted with coral and the brightly colored fish are numerous.
